Push Pull Natural

Here's my latest computer animated short! We spent about 7 weeks modeling, rigging, animating, and lighting/texturing. It's pretty awesome to see all my work put together into one movie! Next up on the agenda is a highly exaggerated version (think Looney Tunes). Enjoy!

Lipsync Caricature!

Here's an update from my DFA (Drawing for Animators) class. We're modeling a caricature of ourselves in Maya next semester, so we just finished our designs for that. It's meeee! Click on the image to open it fully. Blogger's upload made the colors too muddy so I used Photobucket.

DFA: Push/Pull work in progress

Here are my refined silhouettes and the character designs I found within them. I'm really pleased with how they came out! I chose the backpack woodland guy to focus on for my next Computer Animation, the Push/Pull. He's a work in progress right now, I'll update again when I have his refined character sheet done. He reminds me of characters from my favorite childhood Nickelodeon show "The Little Bits" Hahaha.. no one ever remembers that cartoon!

Concept 3!

I'm already absolutely in love with my Concept 3 class with Karen Sullivan. What a smart woman! Right now we're doing a project called "The Door" where a character must try to get through a door, but has problems along the way. My situation is that a girl opens her front door to leave but the weather is constantly changing and she can never become properly dressed for the situation. At the end, she finally just slaps on a random assortment of clothing that could be helpful in any season.

Junior year!

Well it's time to get back into the swing of things. I'm already LOVING my new classes and teachers. Here's some scribble silhouettes we did for my "Drawing for Animators" class. The assignment was to make abstract shapes and marks and try to find characters in them. Really neat!

Sit Stand Beats

Here's some story moments for my Sit/Stand project. As you can see my nun design has changed a bit too. I decided to make her more innocent for the gag, y'see!

Animation exercise and NURBS model

So far, for this semester, we've animated a pre-rigged human model and created a NURBS model of a Robie bank! For some reason my animation exercise is glitching when I try to upload it to Vimeo.. so I'll just post the NURBS model.

Now it's time to move on to the huge project of the year: the sit/stand. Hooo boy.

Character designs for sit/stand

Well second semester of my sophomore year has arrived! We're currently animating with a pre-rigged model, Arty, to get back into the groove of things. At the same time, we're designing our character and stories for our first "major" animation project, the sit/stand. The premise of the assignment is to have a character sit down for a reason and then stand up for a reason. Sounds like fun to me!

For my final idea I'm going to try to use a gambling nun. The only problem with her is rigging her dress and habit, but.. I'll try to figure it out. I really like the yeti-kid so I might try to use him for my push/pull next year if I can get the nun to work.
